Someday
I am happy to report all was very quiet in the house last night. I bought skater boy a new play station game so he was playing football all night with the extra kid. Oldest still hasnt recovered from being on nights, so she turned in at like seven. The little one just bounced around. I knitted and watched t.v.....Ahhhhh I love it when its boring.
I have been wondering how many of you have Emergency Kits ready in case of a disaster. We have been working on ours for like 2 years. I found this article on preparing a kit and breaking it down with projects each week. I LOVE this article. So I thought I would share it. Hubby and I are pulling our kit out this week and we are going to see what we still need to do.

Its something I worry about just about every day. I will feel so much better when it is done.

Jumping the Gun
Oh yeah jumping the gun. I have to tell you I did it. Jump the gun that is. So there I am struggling with W.A.B. and doing everything but work when I notice grooves in Gracies wheels! I am not talking small little lines we are talking grand canyon grooves! No wonder I have such a hard time controlling her. She really has a mind of her own sometimes. So I was really really happy I had caved and ordered edgriders last week! I had played for a second on a someone elses machine and they had them.I couldnt handle it and I caved. I figured 12 UFO's done deserved a reward! They have not come in yet and when they do I am gonna have to rope wonderful hubby into putting them on for me. He mentioned last night it has been a gazillion years since I made lasagna from scratch so I am thinking bribery.
o.k. so last night wonderful hubbys demon posessed cat brings him a present through our open window in our bedroom. Jan I hope to God there isnt a hidden video camera to tape us! There I was in bed after taking a late nap. Not wearing much because well I had been taking a nap. Hubby and I fight over this window ALL the time. He demands it open for his cat and I think his cat should go through the door like normal cats.
Anyways I didnt notice this present until I see it jump 3 feet in the air and run to avoid the cat. I scream and jumped about as high. Then I remember that we have extra kids here and I am jumping around on my bed scantily clad (that sounds better then nekkid) So I Crawl back under the covers and grab my cell phone. Obviously my scremaing is NOT a big deal in this house. I call my hubby and tell him to get his ever lovin little butt up to fix this.
What does wonderful hubby do? He sends skater boy to the rescue carrying a paper towel.Hmmmph! When I tell him that it is alive and not dead he tells me he has an essay to write and leaves me alone hiding under the covers! So I grab the cell again and reaffirm to wonderful hubby that he is needed upstairs like now. Finally he shows up. 20 minutes later, the baseboard heaters have been torn apart, furniture is laying on its side, and I am still under the covers, he corners the thing in the bathroom. All I hear is a flush and a pissed off yowl from the cat. Hubby then comes out of the bathroom and heads for a bucket of water. Evidently something has gotten stuck in the toilet.
You have GOT to be kidding me! I decide at this point to get up and get dressed and shut the dang window. All I can say is that I left him alone to deal with his mess. I had nightmares of using that toilet all night and this morning I had to run for the downstairs bathroom because I couldnt bring myself to use that one. Oh yeah the window was open when I woke up too!

Work Day

When I was looking for a laughing turtle picture the other day I found this and it cracked me up.
Yet again I am procrastinating at going to work. This is not good as I am now running about 2 quilts behind. If I dont get caught up I will have to work one day this weekend. I HATE taking away from my play time. Plus I dont like to work with wonderful hubby home so then I have to give up that time too. So I am determined to get a LOT done today.
I had the most awesome surprise last night. Wonderful hubby calls me and tells me I have a surprise coming but he wont tell me what it is. He really knows the line between me and crazy is short and he really loves to yank on it.About a half hour later I am about at the end of that line and my oldest walks in the door! She has been gone for two weeks working a shut down in Valdez. I missed her. I dont know what the heck I am goinig to do when she goes to visit relatives in December and will be gone a month and a half.
She had fun working in Valdez. Turns out she worked with the kid that is soon to be the father of the Sarah Palins grandbaby. Oldest said he is a pretty nice guy. I guess he had a secret service agent the first couple of days but the guy soon left. I think the poor kid got ribbed a bit. I know oldest asked him if he had ever googled his own name.
All right I guess its time to get my rear in gear. Especially as I am still sitting here in my pj's.

A Song For Jody!

How do you like my dress? What!?! You dont think this looks like me? Ok Ok. Is this better?

Now I am ready. This is ALL for you Jody! ( Oh yeah Ya'll chime in on the chorus ok?)
In the life to come, I intend to hum this hymn to old Saint Peter:I won't need much, when my harp I touch, and become a heavenly eater.I won't ask for money or milk and honey, and my voice will never falterWhile the trumpets blare on the Golden Stair as I stand at the Shining Altar.I yell for ... (Chorus)
This was the closest I could come to finding a picture of a laughing turtle! Ok now enough of all this. ( I am gonna be DEAD meat when she gets a hold of me.) She asked for it though when she called and gently (cough cough) reminded me that I had not updated my blog since friday! Heheheh Funny thing is she cant even reply tho this! hahahahahahahahahahah!
I have been a busy girl, AND I get to move that turtle today! Yippee! I may now be making clothesline baskets in ALL my spare time but it could be worse. I could drink in my spare time..... While making clothes line baskets!Lol. Here is my basket. It was supposed to be a purse but I was having so much fun putting it together I couldnt stop.I want to make more.....The best thing of all is that all those inch strips you just cant bear to throw away are now good for something..The basket is about the size of a med/small garbage can. I am going to put yarn in it.Or maybe more clothesline.
I also finished a Cuppa Joe. Its a wool felt pin cushion that I first saw on Kays Blog. Kay is totally responsible for my new addiction to wool felt. It was a moment of sheer bliss when I found Betz White and also a moment of sheer panic when I realized her Etsy store sells out way before I even get up in the morning. I had to get up STUPID early but I lucked into a cuppa joe kit. I was going to just make this pattern up from her tutorial on Martha Stewart and bugged the heck out of Kay and Jan over yarn types but then I found the kit! Much much much easier. Well ok if I have to be honest I bought two kits for the cuppa joe and two kits for the cupcake measure tape.
So now that I have updated my blog and gotten myself into a teensy bit of trouble I need to go to bed. It wouldnt of been a good day though if I hadnt ribbed her back just a little!

Evidently
Today was also a great day in my studio! I finished 3 cusomer quilts and got a tip! O.k. O.k. they were samll quilts and the tip was a small one but it was intentional! She (my customer) gave me 5 extra dollars! I dont get tips very often so this is big for me. I also finished the quilting on 3 of my smaller quilts so look for that turtle to move this weekend! I just have to trim and bind. Oh yeah its a GOOD feeling!

Meet Dudley

Jody is cutting out her pattern. We are in her sewing room which is just huge and fabulous and kid free! It made for a quiet day. I even missed ly little angels......Snort!
Next we had to sew darts into the shells.
This is the head to my Crush. I love his lazy eyes!
The shells took so much longer then we thought and this is about as far as we got. Pretty cool huh!
Jody's Dudley who is still waiting for his name. All in all it was a pretty awesome day. I didnt get home until after 4. We will have to have another day to finish them.
Today I have a longarm meeting to go to. Very excited about that. Skater boy will be in his English Tutor class and the youngest can come with me.Then it is home and back to work! Too much playing for me lately! Lol

So what its Tuesday
Maybe it is the fact that we have had 15 staight days of rain. I have some of the oddest mushrooms growing in the front yard in what is supposed to be grass but this year is all weeds.
The oddest thing yesterday. I mean this is odd. I had to take the youngest in to school for her reading test. (which by the way she scored 30 points above her level) I go to get in my truck and there are piles of poo everywhere outside on my sidewalk, driveway, and weeds/lawn. I mean so much poo that I had wonderful hubby come look. This is not dog, cat, moose,or bear. (disgusting that I know the difference) Wonderful Hubby says that is bird poo. BIG big bird poo. We are talking goose here. What the heck? I am telling you that at no time the day before did I see a large bird/goose anywhere near my yard. Is this a joke? Is there some random bird with a digestive problem that hides until I am not around? It is baffling me so much that I am ready to go get a video camera to see what is doing this! I can set it up so that it looks like I am not at home or awake and then maybe this mutant bird/goose will show itself! Maybe this is what put me in a bad mood.hmmmmmm
I did not finish my applique last night. But I am close.Very close. My eyes started crossing on me after awhile. I think I need magnifying glasses!
Ok I am going for more coffee and then I am going to try to be nice. Is it too early to put something in the coffee?

Sunday Check In
What did I do all day you ask? Well since you asked, I did whatever I wanted. Ü. Actually I have been working on my oriental jacket. I finished the symbols( I am not sure what the correct term is for this) for tranquility and only have love left. It has to be the hardest applique I have ever done. I had to quit though as it is getting dark. I would be able to keep going if I had my OTT light. But that died a very premature and untimely death involving 3 dogs, a cat, a 15 year old skater boy, and a skate board. It wasnt pretty. It was also very loud and the cats tail has never been the same.
Besides that I also finished most of the blocks for my cousins quilt (thats on my list) and almost all the blocks to the first thangles top. I am still in disbelief at how small those stupid triangles are.Who thinks up these things?
I know I know I jumped around a lot. I could of just worked on one thing and finished it but thats not me. I have to jump around as I get bored. Well truthfully I will get up to get a drink or go to the bathroom and see something and start working on it forgetting what I had just left. Sigh.
Yesterday I was a verrrrrrrrrrrry bad girl. I am a very spoiled girl I tell ya. I also had yesterday to myself. So I went shopping.Ü. I went to Joannes as they were having a HUGE sale and bought a load of new cotton yarn, new booklets with washcloth patterns to knit, stuffing, and polar fleece. The stuffing is for my dudley day on wednesday. (that will be a whole other adventure to tell you about)
Then I went to the LQS who was having their annual open house. Well of course I had to make sure and leave with fabric and a few more patterns. The patterns are for baby clothes so that I can make my new baby cuz Tice some cute clothes. I just love babies and baby things.
I still am on the fence over the car. Thank heavens I have a while to think. I was pretty sure it was gonna be the buick because of all the prettys on the inside. If you havent seen the inside pics of a Buick Enclave you should. Oh man! I am all about the pretty. But then I looked up videos on U Tube. Now I am leaning toward the Acadia. They showed a very tall man sitting in the third row and he had leg room! I dont ever plan on being back there and it wouldnt matter as I am short but my hubby is tall. His genes were much stronger then mine in the height depeartment and my children all tower over me. The youngest even though she is adopted had birth parents over 6"....So there you go. I am now leaning towards the Acadia but wanting the pretty..........
Sorry this is a boring post but that was my day.Maybe tomorrow I will get some pictures for you!

Decisions
So wonderful hubby tells me a couple days ago that he has the opportunity to rent my truck out next year for 6 months. This breaks my heart as it is my baby. My red, leather, sun roof, heated seats waited to get until I didnt have little children, hubby had it delivered with 3 miles and a big red ribbon baby. BUT and it is a huge one, if I do rent it out for 6 months it will completely pay it off and it will be rented to someone we know.It will be taken care of. It does get lousy gas mileage at 13 mpg. Plus I drive so little that we can rent it out and the mileage put on it wont even bring it up to the estimated mileage it should have. I would be stupid not to do this so I told him to go for it.
Unbelievable he left this descision completely up to me. Unbelievable as the man would rent his socks out if he werent wearing them. So after I make this monumentous descision (it took me over a week) he tells me to pick out another vehicle and we will pick it up next year. We have started making plans for a HUGE roadtrip from Washington, Arkansas,Texas,California, and back to Alaska road trip. His idea would be to buy it outside next may and use it for our road trip. Awesome idea as I was looking at rental prices and it would be wiser to put the money into our own vehicle. What is the problem I am sure you are wondering. Well besides the fact that we are completely off our rockers to take the children on a road trip. Its the fact that he has left it completely up to me to pick my new vehicle out!
I have spent 3 days searching car reports, websites, and every blog I can find. I have it narrowed down to two. A Buick Enclave and a GMC Acadia. So now the quest begins. My lists of pros and cons, what extras do I want or what seems to be a waste of money. I told him last night we are going to find a place to rent each one out so that I can spend time driving them to compare. Yikes. This is really overwhelming me. What is wonderful hubby doing as I am obsessing about this? Sitting back and laughing. He knows I will do all the homework. His job will be to call his friend at the dealership and tell him to order it.Ü. He has had to buy so many trucks and such throughout the past few years he just makes his little phone call and then signs papers. He doesnt do haggling and such.
So which one would you pick? Of course whichever one I get it WILL be red. That isnt even up for discussion.

GMC Acadia Seats7 18-24 mpg
Buick Enclave Seats 7 18-24 mpg
On another note you will not be surprised that the tv is STILL not hooked up. So your not alone Deb! I cant watch tv either! I have a lot of lovely cords and wires however just all over the place. I am sure though when its all done it will be just spiffy.Ü

Do you know what time it is?
Then came the children. HOW did the kids become such football freaks! I mean FREAKS! Jerikah is a Patriots fan all the way. You ask her she can tell you anything about that team. Jerrod of course followed his father in his pick with the Raiders. Jerrod of course took it to the next level. Here he is trying to impress the ladies with his zoolander "Blue Steal" look.
So there I am floundering without a team.Evidently that is a big no no. Who knew? So I thought long and hard and came up with the Packers. My reasons are this
1. Any team that can incite their fans to wear cheese is pretty cool. ( I really dont care for cheese but this is still pretty cool)
2. They wear green and yellow. I like green and yellow.
3. The Wisconsin accent cracks me up. I love it.
4. Last but not least and probably most importantly this team for some reason really irritates the rest of my family.
So now that football season has started life in this house will revolve around football. UGH. On a high note the Packers did win their first game last night and probably made a really good choice with Aaron Rodgers. He was hot! And the Raiders lost!hehehehehe
While I was forced to sit through those games I did move the turtle. I finished the binding on this little wall hanging. It was a tin kit that I had ordered from Moda like two years ago. I am so glad it is done. These little wall hangings give me guilt. At least with a big quilt you can use the excuse that they take a LOT of time. This one took me barely two hours to bind. I am pathetic.
Oh and WHAT was I thinking when I bought those thangles kits. Was I drunk? The finished thangle is 1.5 inches! These blocks are freakin small and I have 3 quilts time 12 blocks each to do! Since the strips are pre cut I may just turn them into split rail blocks and call it good. I will finish this first one and then see what I think.
Ok enough rambling. I think I am going to pop back over to Vicki's blog and do some more eye candy surfing.I did make the executive decision to not do Super Tuesday today. I am still in shock over my find on the last cleaning day.

! OMG !
3 entire kits with backing and 2 birds in the air tops started but not finished. So instead of seeing that turtle go below 20 this week I get to see him move the other direction. No more cleaning for me. Nothing good can come from it! Ü
I did however get the baby boy set done. It is going in the mail on Monday for my very favorite cousin. I also included a bad pic of the bears that I finished last week. I have been trying really hard to get it hung all wekk in the shop but I am just not tall enough and I am scared of heights so the ladder is out. Just need to drag hubby out there.
Ok I am going to go finish something. I am determined to get that turtle back down. I am NOT changing my goal though. I am still keeping to my goal number of 30 to get done.
Oh and guess what I finally remembered to buy at the store....PICKLES!

What to do Wed.
So I am better enough to get out of bed and besides laundry and starting the two youngest on school I need to accomplish something. hmm I still havent cleaned the 5th wheel but lets just leave that off the list. Its not going anywhere.Ü.I think I will just play around in the sewing room see what trouble I can stir up.Lol
I did move the turtle again. Although I dont have a finished picture yet. I finished a small wall hanging.I will get a pic of it tomorrow and post. But I am moving the turtle today. I also need to get moving on the baby boy quilt. The baby shower is later this month and I need to send it out. I dont think I am going to work this week either. I have customers coming tomorrow to drop off but thats not a biggie. Boy what a boring post this is today!
