Give Away Time!!!

I bet yall thought I had forgotten to do a giveaway for my second blogaversary! I almost did I will be honest.

Thankfully I remembered before the end of Feb!.....I also have some help Ü. A week or so back I got an email from Jamie who is part of the CSN promotion team asking if I would like to give away a gift to one lucky reader!!!

WELL YA! I jumped on it. I had so much fun picking out a gift to give. They have some wonderful products. It took me almost a whole week to comb through their stores to find just the right gift! They have 200+ stores! I am thinking this may pose a threat to our bank account in the future, atleast once we get this house done! So grab a barstool and browse through their stores when you get a chance!

So if you would like to win a set of these beautiful Certified International Bubble Amber All Purpose (Set of 4)

glasses PLUS a goodie bag from me just keep reading Ü.

To enter please leave me a comment on what kind of party would you use these for? I see these as the perfect glasses for a little afternoon garden party. With everyone sitting at a beautiful garden table surrounded by spring flowers. What do you see?

For EXTRA entries please let me know you have blogged about it (1 entry) and that you follow (1 entry).

Contest will end March 1. At that time I will draw the name and email the winner. Jamie from CSN Stores will order your glasses and I will put your goodie bag together.

Now remember if you dont tell me what kind of party you would use these for then I wont know what to put in the goodie bag! I will let you in on a little secret though. It will include and apron!!!

Mish Mosh

If you are interested in seeing the wonderful job the photographer Mandi Carroll did here is her blog address. We are about the 4th post down. Planned Spontaneity. This woman is amazing let me tell you!

Now I want to show off my goodies from the Martini swap by Shawnee. Jo in Australia made this beautiful reversable apron.

She also made the beaded snake that goes around a glass stem. It says Bottoms Up! Lol....Look at all the goodies! Wowzer she spoiled me.
Amida wouldnt leave me alone. For some reason she was fascinated by my sock. She has a thing for socks. Strange dog.

Evidently this was her first attempt at embroidery. All I know is that if this is her first attempt then I am giving it up! She did a fabulous job! I love my new hostess apron. Thanks Jo!
Ok now to do something productive today. I have 3 quilts to get on the frame this week and a breakfast party to go to tonight...For that I am making waffles!

So its been about 5 years since we had family pictures done. I LOVED the guy we went to in Kenai but he was very traditional for the most part. We got a little crazy but I have always dreamed of those awesome outdoor shots.

So I did some research and found this lady in town that does some amazing work. I called her and we made our appt. I literally had to go on a waiting list and was so HAPPY with a date in Feb!.....Yeah this all sounded good in August when I called her. WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!!!

I have been cheerleading this photo shoot for the last month with my family to keep them upbeat about it. They are really good about family pictures. No grumbling from them as I am a BIG beliver in having them current. The outdoor thing...Yeah NOT SO MUCH!!!!

So there we are downtown Minot with this amazing photographer and its 20 degrees outside...We managed to get all of the pictures taken in 26 min! I cant wait to see them. I just hope I unthaw here soon!Ü

Good Times

Super Bowl parties are the blast aren't they? We have some wonderful new friends here and we had a blast! Cheryl is from Alaska (now ND). She and her awesome hubby just moved here last week. He works with WH. Its wonderful to have a piece of our past with us.Ü

Johanna is a kick. Totally beautiful inside and out. She also LOVES homemade rootbeer. Too bad she and her hubby were going for the colts. hehehe
Isnt she gorgeous! I was having a bad hair day.Hence the head band.Lol

Oldest is not fond of this team nor this player. So new friend above made her a little present.hahah. I think it was payback for doing the bootie dance when their beloved Vikings lost a couple weeks ago.

This was my contribution to the game. For our hostess and host who had a little fun argument last week over who should make the cake........Ü

I have been fairly quiet lately I know. Life has just gone full speed since we have come home. Most days I feel like I am not keeping up. This is not a complaint mind you. I dont mind. It keeps me busy and the winter goes faster.Ü

We are ordering our kitchen cabinets tomorrow. They should take 3-4 weeks to come in. In the meantime I have convinced WH to take another much needed break! Not only are we running out of funds to keep the workers going but I am ready for some privacy for awhile. So for the next three weeks I am going to clean clean clean. All we have left will be the counter tops, appliances, the 3 bathrooms, and all the little stuff that has been overlooked. That little stuff list is huge mind you!

I need to get my sewing and quilting Mojo back. First though I NEED your opinion/help....I was at the hairdressers the other day and she asked what I did for a living. Dont you love that question? I of course answered I am a long arm quilter. After I explained what I did and what that meant, she says oh you sew! Well, yes I do that too. Ü. I truly do LOVE talking about what I do so this is not a problem. Then she says are you looking for work? DUH (I siad that part in my brain).

She hands me this phone number for a company about an hour away from here. What they do is sell clothing on the internet. They are always back ordered and are begging for seamstresses. They give you the fabric and pattern and you make the item for them. I can work from home and mail back and forth to them.

Now I quit being a seamstress because I couldnt take working with the people anymore. I know that sounds bad but honestly I either got a butt load of nut jobs or everyone really WAS a size 6 no matter what the measurements said. This though is got me befuddled.

First off I dont really know if I will get the job. I havent called yet since I am still pondering. Have any of you had experience with this sort of thing? Do you have any opinions on this? I sure would love to contribute something right now........

Thank YOU!!!!!

Ooooh I LOVE a good swap! This is a horrible picture of a beautiful apron. I LOVE the pointsetta material. Look at all the goodies she sent with it! In all honesty how did you know we lost our can opener. Not even kidding on that. I also have NO kitchen right now so that cookbook is going to be used a whole lot. THANK YOU SO MUCH TULSI!Thank you also to Megan in Australia! I was in an alphabet swap and I think I was spoiled to peices! Can you tell what our letter was?

The letter P! Paddington bear fabric, 3 Patchwork & Quilting magazines (that I LOVE), Pencils with metalic lead, Pistachio chocolate that has been eaten, Paper clips in the shape of clothes pins (too cute) and pretties for scrapbooking! Way too cool a package.Plus I had this package waiting for me Ü. Did I mention I was spoiled! My snowflake swap. Thank you Melissa. There also was a cool white hand knitted washcloth but well it is being used. Ü
This wasnt part of a swap. But I wanted to share with yall. I have always wondered whhere I came from. Seriously. My grandmothers quilted when they needed a new blanket. They sewed clothes out of necessity. I am 42 years old and on this trip home my mother presented me with this. My grandmothers embroidery hoop, pattern ,left over floss and hand made doilies. I lost my grandmother when I was 16 but have so many fond memories of her. I never remembered this though. She embroidered because she wanted to! I am NOT the weird one anymore (and yes my sisters often pointed that out to me)! My grandmother passed a creative gene to me! Best of all I have her pattern. I am going to use it. What a great gift. The only thing I have of hers.Ü

My Eden

Its pretty rare that I will chose to sew a romper/jumpsuit type of garment. In fact there is only one other that I have ever sewn. While I ...
