What a Difference a Day Makes!

Yesterday we signed with a realtor. Its all in her hands now. What a relief I feel! I cant belive the amount of stress that just lifted off. We still have work to do but I am not feeling the pressure get to this point anymore. Monday morning will see a sign and flyer box in our yard and now I have to keep the house spotless.

She told us that its a really hot time right now so we will see.Ü

Today I went and ordered my car! Yippie! It was so much fun to pick out everything. They even gave me a picture of what it will look like when it is done. Do you want to see it?

Hahahahahaha. I couldnt resist! Its not really my car.Lol. I did get the Buick Enclave. There is a very good chance it wont be here when we leave. But because wonderful hubby will still be going back and forth for awhile he will just bring it out with him after it gets here. We could of had it delivered out there but that presented a problem too. The would want us to fly out and do all the paperwork and thats not really a viable option. We ordered it through a buddy here so if it comes in while we are gone he will keep it safe.

So now I have to think of a name for it....... I know I dont know its personality yet but I have already started thinking.Crimson is the color I chose with brown interior. Any ideas?

Blog Award

Thank you for this awesome award! It means more because it comes from great friends! So I guess its now time to list 5 addictions and then pass it on.

1. Coffee nice strong very strong coffee.
2. Quilting in every form. I love it all.
3. The internet. there is so much to see and learn. I have to be very strict with my time because I could sit here for hours.

Thursday happenings

This is the movie we chose to watch last night. We didnt quite watch all of it as we all 3 had a lot of whining to do. We have a rule.We can whine and complain all we want.It ALL stays in that room or in Seinfeld language gets vaulted. Its all about the hugs and comfort of good friends. I cant tell you how wonderful I felt at the end of the night. A much much needed break.

On the movie though, hmmmm it was interesting. One I am glad I rented once but will not buy. It was good but different. I absolutely love both Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman. Well Hugh is just a hunk of burning man love.yuuuuuuuuum. And he does have a couple OMG shirt off moments.Whoooooo Baby! He just wasnt in enough scenes though. Its story line was interesting but odd. Anyways it was a good one to watch once. Next Martini night we have already decided on a movie. We found out that one of us (not me) has not seen Man From Snowy River.

Honestly I didnt think that was possible. I own my own copy and it is like the third one I have bought as I keep wearing them out. When I was a teen age girl I had decided I was moving to Australia and I was going to find Tom Burlinson (the actor) and I was GOING to marry him! When I met wonderful hubby I had all the money saved to go and give me time to find a job. Wow did I get sidetracked or what!

Guess who blew there top again this morning? And NO it wasnt me.Lol

Looks like this time we are getting ash. Nice pretty greyish black ash. So much fun to clean off of everything. Not to mention all with asthma and problems like that will have to take extra precautions. Wonderful hubbies gma just got out of the hospital from having pneumonia. She is 85. So oldest went to run her to the doctors to make sure she has everything she needs to deal.

On the bright side of it all. It is an amazing thing to live by a volcano. The kids have all rounded up their jars so that they can take ash with us to ND.

I am running away from home

I have decided its time again. So tonight I am grabbing a bottle of champagne and a good movie and running over to one of my martini buddies house.I am on the lookout for a good movie though.Any ideas? We are looking for a good chic flick, and we dont mind shedding a tear or two.
Tonight the carpet guy is coming to finish the Vinyl. Then the realtor is supposed to come over and take pictures. I am leaving it ALL in wonderful hubbies hands. When I told him this last night he looked somewhat panic stricken. Oh well. As my skater boy son would say, Sucks to be you!...........Did I tell you I was cranky? Lol. It is getting better I swear. I think this is the final week of intense house work. Then it is all little stuff and me just keeping it all clean. I am even putting my sewing room back together today. My tile step isnt done yet but too bad. I need some "real" fiber content and I need to get my sanity back.Isnt it stupid that the only time your house is really the way you want it is the time you are trying to sell it?

Fiber Content and Vocanos

We have FIBER! In ALL the bedrooms, in the hallway, and on the stairs! I have been without internet for almost 4 days as we were all crammed inot one room but it was worth it!

Mount Redoubt blew its top about 5 times last night. It doesnt look like the ash is headed our direction but for some reason we were without power for about 2 hours this a.m. I was so excited to get my computer back up and running today and check in with everone. It was so irritating to find I still couldnt! Argh. Now I have to get busy as we have our realtor coming on Wed.I WILL make time this afternoon to make my rounds though.heheheheh.

I MISSED yall!

Blithering itiot

That would be me.... Poor hubby is out of town today and for some reason I cant seem to talk to him without falling apart! I have decided today I am done done done with this house. I told him whatever was not done when the carpet gets here on Friday is just not getting done.If that is a problem I know where to buy matches....I think I scared him.About an hour later two workers were here. I of course did what comes natural to me.I went online shopping. Sigh.Depression does NOT go well with credit cards. But on the bright side I got a pretty new pair of shoes from White house black market. I love shoes. They look good no matter how much weight you gain or even if you just look well......

To Do Lists

Yeah...... I am beginning to hate them. It seems that everytime I look at the list it gets longer! Is that even possible? I know in reality it hasnt but it feels never ending. Our carpet did NOT show up. Evidently when we asked them for what they had in stck and their answer was yes.It didnt mean they actually had it in stock in THIS store. It just meant yes they do in fact have this carpet at one of their stores somewhere. So it is now supposed to be done this next friday. We will see. It actually is ok as we will really have a lot more done before it gets here. So I am not too upset.
The Tapas party was a huge blast I loved it and the food and Sangria was so yummy. I did get pictures and will get them posted later. I didnt get to play with Walt today after all. That was ok too though as hubby has to leave again in the morning to Calgary and uh someplace else. SO today we did nothing! Just spent time together. I havent been a whole heck of a lot of fun to spend time with lately so I figures he deserved one day of nice Becca.
Tomorrow back to work. I have quiltsd to get done and would actually like to post some fiber fun at some point!Lol

To the new and improved Turtle Trax Too! Didnt Hilary Craner at Simply Yours do a fantabulous job! Thank you so so very much!

Wonder Washer

Wonder Clean is the ideal washing machine to use in any place. It is virtually for everyone. It washes in the same way as the best electrical washing machine, but it does it so much more quickly and easily. How it works: It is neither MIRACLE nor MAGIC - It is SCIENCE. The principle of operation is based on the physics laws of pressure and heat. The hot water heats the air inside the container. The heated air "tries" to expand but is prevented so by the hermetically sealed container. When the expansion of the air is prevented, the result is that the pressure is built up inside the container. This pressure causes the soap and water to penetrate forcefully through the garment and the stains are released. Turning the container causes the previously released stain to be removed from the garment.

OK so what do you think of this? It seems to good to be true to me but I cant find anything negative on it. If it is truly what it says this would be most perfect for that 5th wheel living that is in my future. I may have to try it just because!

GREAT bloggy things are in the works. I finally made the plunge and am having someone design a blog for me. I saw the preview of it tonight and I am totally in love love love! I cant wait to show yall!

the plan is this. tomorrow we start painting doors, I finish up sanding and painting heat baseboards ( BTW can they NOT come up with a better heating system for bathrooms then metal that will rust?), my sewing room gets more texture, and we finish cleaning up the paint in skater boys room. Oh yeah I also have to work most of tomorrow. Snot faced stupid head with texting problem will NOT be here.See my smile?Ü

Thursday/friday morn we get to paint my sewing room and carpet and new vinyl gets here. Sat we start putting things away and by Sunday I should be almost normal! Well normal for me. Do you think that things will go according to plan? Hahahahahaha. I sure HOPE so. Medication at this point is just not cutting it.

Either way friday night I am going to a party! Two of my BFF's are throwing us a very early early going away party. A tapas party. With Sangria and FUN FUN FOOD! I bought them these as a thank you gift. Dont ya just LOVE this? Of course I had to order myself one too. That way we can text each other no matter where we are and have a drink together.....Yeah now I am getting all sniffly. Pretty soon I will be doing the ugly cry. They are Lolita glamour tini martini glasses and I think I may have to order more!
Then I get to go play with my friend Walt on Sunday! WOoooooooooooHoooooooooo. I love Walt. Hubby tried to get me the limited pink grips but after waiting about 3 months we gave up. I luv him anyways! He is my friend. Hubby also got a lock for him and hid the key so that I dont get into trouble when he is not here. probably a good idea in light of my mood swings lately. (we also put the gun in a hidden location known only to us cuz of the 2 legged animals)
Right now I am watching American Idol and I think I might just love Danny,Adam,Scott, and Matt. Do I have to pick just one? I think one of my guys are going to win it this year.

Thank you Friends!

Thank you for your comments. Yall truly made me feel better. I just needed to rant and have my friends understand.

WARNING major rant ahead!!!

I am warning yall right now this post is me complaining! Actually I am so mad I think their may be steam coming from the top of my head......Yup Im pretty sure there is.

SO we have been having some "issues" with our young painter. Hes a sweet kid but just that a kid. Hubby an I felt sorry for him as he was looking for work so we gave him work. I started to NOT feel sorry for him about the first week.

Ok I will just state I have major colosal tremendously HUGE control issues. I know this, I understand this, and I am o.k. with this. I work on it constantly and everyone that knows me knows I try to keep it under control.

Being sick this past couple of weeks gave me the excuse to babysit the painter when he did show so that I knew he was atleast painting something. The fact that he was in the kids bathroom for 6 hours after I had done the walls, put a first coat on the ceiling ,and taken aoff the hardware on the doors irritated me but hubby just wanted to let it go. The fact that in an eight hour day he would spend 6 hours of it text messaging did make me want to take a hammer to his phone but AGAIN hubby (you notice he isnt wonderful right now)(YA hero status is gone for the moment!) says oh just let it go..........

So today I finally get my act together and convince myself to go to work.My customers are the most undersatnding customers in the world. Our other painter had shown up, even the drywaller was here, so I am thinking its ok to leave the little stupidhead alone.............GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

He repainted skater boys room. Needed to be done. I was ok with that.Didnt even let myself check on him at lunch.I am trusting him. At the end of the day he leaves and I think hmmmmm lets go see what he did. Do you know what he did? He DID NOT cover the pergo flooring we installed a few short months ago in skater boys room. I scrubbed for 2 hours did not even get 1/2 the paint up and hubby STILL is not mad enough to fire the little &#!!......If I start drinking right now I will not be stopping tonight.I locked myself in the bedroom and have growled at anyone daring to walk past the room. My mom used to say when she was mad that she could just spit nails.....Yup that sounds appropriate.

Lets try this again!

I hope this works AND I hope I can remember how to do this without begging Jan!Lol....Thanks JAN!

Jan This Ones For You

I would LOVE to know how to put videos on here but I cant figure it out. Had this sent to me today and thought of you.Its a little long.

I was feeling a little guilty about joining a LOT of swaps. I am a swap addict. But then I realised it wasnt a bad thing. I love making things for people and I love love love getting little surprises in the mail.

So I am releasing myself from the guilt. I always get my swap done and I am always happy with what I send out. I so far have been VERY happy with what I have received. It has been obvious that my swap partners care very much about what they are doing too.

Right now I am also crowded into a little space with no room to pull out some of my bigger projects and quite honestly I am feeling very uninspired. These little projects like my aprons are exciting and fun. Here is my latest!

I dont know how to attach the link but her blog address in on it. I cant wait!

This Could Be

My New Home. Our friends are selling their 5th wheel and after much discussion I think we are going to upgrade. When the house sells we will need somepalce to locate the family. I dont want to jump on another house right away as we are looking at buying land and that will take awhile. So we need a 5th wheel bigger then the one we have.
Then hubby can keep the one we have here for his trips back and yes Jan lol to rent it out! He is finally getting his way! hahahaha.
So the question is.......Is this big enough for my "stuff" 3 dogs, 3 kids and a slightly insane mom? I have a feeling my "stuff" will be in storage!
BTW what does one do when they still are sick, and banned from every room in the house except for their bedroom? SHOP! And Jody thinks I will be the adult and keep her from shopping? HA!
I did some real damage today let me tell you. A new laptop, an american girl doll, a new apron book (thanks Freda!),and a book on how to make doll clothes. Argh...........hehehhe I cant wait to get my goodies!

Today He Is My Hero

As I have mentioned before I HATE painting. Lately though it seems that I am doing a lot of it.I do mean a lot. My poor hands are dry and cracked. My shoulder has a permanent cramp and I havent been able to work on my customer quilts. This guy has had to work out of town again and wont be home until tomorrow night. So today I get a knock at the door and there stands a friend who says to me that Wonderful Hubby aka my hero has called him to come figure out what needs to be done and he will be back on Monday to finsh! That poor man. He stood at the door as I yelled YIPPEEEEEE like he was wanting to bolt. I asked him if I could hug him but he didnt think his wife would approve so we just agreed that my hubby is a hero and I was very happy!
My hero ALSO arranged to have another friend come do the door( we have a new one) and replace 2 windows! My Hero/\

Ok so I am in the Fiesta Apron swap. Here are my two inspirations. I am a little scared of this one though. I dont know why but I am. So I am going to make some drawings up and start playing this weekend with it. What do yall think?

Ok because I havent shoved any little man photos down your throats lately I have to show you how much he has grown! He has chubs! Oooooh I miss this little man.

Now I know yall have NO idea who this is but I had to show you my beautiful friend who got married in Jan. I just love how fun this picture is. Jody you know who this is tho!

Tomorrow my goal is to work. I am behind yet again. That seems to be the normal lately. But for right now I am going to go watch American Idol and work on my binding.....What are you doing tonight?

My Opinion of Craigslist

We were challenged by a friend 3 days ago. To list our house while we are still finishing the construction with Craigslist.

So we did. Just on a whim. Not expecting anything at all. We are unoficially listed with a realtor, so that means we can sell it on our own.We have about 2 weeks to be done and then it will be listed with an MLS number. WOWSERS!

You cannot even imagine the phone calls and emails we have had. We had our first showing tonight. There I am, wearing ratty dirty painting clothes and my wonderful hubby is giving this couple a tour. We had thought for sure when they first got here they were tire kickers. But now we are not so sure.About 1/2 hour later I noticed they were in our lot looking. We have another showing this weekend I think on Friday. The best part though was right before our tire kickers showed up. About 5 minutes before we get a phone call. Wonderful hubby answered as I was perilously balanced on the bathtub trying to paint a hard to reach corner.

It so happens this man who does the VERY same work as Wonderful hubby is looking for a house with a lot next door to run his business. WOW! Needless to say those two had an hour long conversation with it ending that we would see him on Saturday to walk through the house! I dont know whats going to happen here and we may just get a ton of tire kickers but we really are happy with the exposure.I also listed a few other things with Craigslist and we have sold some. I am truly amazed.

I had never looked at it before or even cared what was on it. My opinion has now changed.I think I may look a lot more often at what is to be offered.

I am SO glad some things have changed!

Home Economics High School Text Book, 1954

Have dinner ready. Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal, on time. This is a way of letting him know that you have been thinking about him and are concerned about his needs. Most men are hungry when they come home and the prospect of a good meal are part of the warm welcome needed.

Prepare yourself. Take 15 minutes to rest so that you'll be refreshed when he arrives. Touch up your makeup, put a ribbon in your hair and be fresh-looking. He has just been with a lot of work-weary people. Be a little gay and a little more interesting. His boring day may need a lift.

Clear away the clutter. Make one last trip through the main part of the home just before your husband arrives, gather up schoolbooks, toys, paper, etc. Then run a dust cloth over the tables. Your husband will feel he has reached a haven of rest and order, and it will give you a lift, too.

Prepare the children. Take a few minutes to wash the children's hands and faces (if they are small), comb their hair, and if necessary change their clothes. They are little treasures and he would like to see them playing the part.

Minimize all noise. At the time of his arrival, eliminate all noise of the washer, dryer, dishwasher, or vacuum. Try to encourage the children to be quiet. Be happy to see him. Greet him with a warm smile and be glad he is home.

Some don'ts: Don't greet him with problems or complaints. Don't complain if he is late for dinner. Count this as minor compared with what he might have gone through that day. Make him comfortable. Have him lean back in a comfortable chair or suggest he lie down in the bedroom. Have a cool or warm drink ready for him. Arrange his pillow and offer to take off his shoes. Speak in a low, soft, soothing and pleasant voice. Allow him to relax and unwind.

Listen to him. You may have a dozen things to tell him, but the moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk first.

Make the evening his. Never complain if he does not take you out to dinner or to other places of entertainment. Instead, try to understand his world of strain and pressure, his need to be home and relax.

The Goal: Try to make your home a place of peace and order where your husband can renew himself in body and spirit.

And The Apron Love Goes To!

KAY! I love random number generator. It makes this job so easy. Kay if you mail me your addy I will send this out to you!

Sorry it took so long to draw the number. It seems I have a touch of bronchitis. Then the painters didnt show up.So instead of snuggling in my bed and trying to convince my children they should wait on me hand and feet because I was dying, I had to don ugly painting clothes and paint......Ugh. Have I ever mentioned I HATE painting? I really really hate painting. I also hate how we get one room done and it makes all the other rooms look like crap. So then we have to paint those.

All right I am going back to bed. Maybe I canvince one of my animals to run to the store to get me a diet Dr. Pepper. I would rather have an ice cream but I am dieting.... I think I deserve the ice cream though.

My Eden

Its pretty rare that I will chose to sew a romper/jumpsuit type of garment. In fact there is only one other that I have ever sewn. While I ...
