Very Confused

It has been a very rough week here. We have had 3 walk throughs on the house and not one has gone well. Our poor realtor is beside herself as she doesnt want our house to have a stigma to it. I agree with her. But I am just so confused as to why. The last realtor that went through did give her a list so she is going to come over and we are going to go through it. I am mad though because evidently the interior paint is on that list. I HATED the job that the dumb kid did but I couldnt get it through wonderful hubbys head. So now they are saying it needs to be repainted. I dont agree with a total repaint but recutting in yes. I am blown away that the list is so long that she thinks we may need to do a blitz again or pull the listing. What in the heck are people wanting? I cant wait to get a look at this list so that we know what they want.
I was so upset today though I have had a hard time keeping it together.I took the whole day and just played in my sewing room. It felt good but it also felt wrong. Like I should have been fixing something. WOnderful hubby should be home soon so we can evaluate this somewhat. We are NOT taking it off the market. So I guess that means we just need to get busy again. The plan is for the kids and I to leave here in June so that I can get them set up for school. We have to make this happen.

Go with your gut on this one Becca. You would not believe the games the realtors will play... including good cop bad cop... yours may have integrity... or she may be playing a game of good cop bad cop. Look at the list objectively, but never ever forget you have a brain and they loose money if you don't sell.... so they want you to sell quick so they stop spending time and money... if you loose money they don't really care....

Wow...who is your Realtor? We were looking for awhile, but our first Realtor turned out to be a jack-a$$. I hope things look up for you. It sucks but perseverance pays off.

Oh, Becca, how I feel your pain. My family and I are going through essentially the same process with selling our home right now. I will be amazed if I survive the ordeal.

I’m what you might like to think as the very tail end of the SITS welcome wagon. While my cohorts all probably stopped by your blog in a timely manner, I instead took a different approach. I thought I would wait a while and then swing by and say, hey, you’re still a member!

Or maybe I’m just a big slacker who is finally getting back on the comment wagon. I’ll leave the interpretation up to you, but I urge you to seriously consider option #1! :)

Stay strong and good luck with the sale of your home.

I think people see these real estate reality shows on HGTV and lose their perspective and they get lazy. People should anticipate some fix ups of their own in the average household to make it THEIRS. It drives me nuts. Dean and I ALWAYS expect to do 'DIY' once we purchase a home. I had someone once say they couldn't 'get past the color' (I was in a pink stage, don't ask.) Anyhoo, I was like...don't you know how to PAINT? Then they bought it and painted everything kelly green.
